Obtaining Full Benefit from the Program

This Program and its Lessons are designed for doing, for execution, for work; Lessons should never be viewed only as entertainment, as one might watch a cooking or home improvement show.

Neatness of student work is encouraged and modeled, as is the use of cursive handwriting and a ruler. Both contribute to cognitive strengthening, according to the most recent cognitive science research as well as traditional pedagogy. So, students should strive for neatness, and should try to write in cursive even if they print at school. If cursive is slow or sloppy at first, it will improve quickly with practice. Twenty years of encouraging cursive handwriting proves this to be true!

Students will not be able to look back at a previous Lesson once they have begun a new Lesson.
Our program is designed this way to encourage

  1. sharper attention in each Lesson; and,
  2. the careful saving of each Lesson's worksheets and diagrams so that they are organized and available for review.

This limitation placed on access to the Lessons teaches that not everything is available forever, as it seems to be on the internet; some opportunities exist for a short time only. We must sit up, pay attention, and take advantage of each moment!

Each Lesson builds on and uses the skills acquired in the previous Lesson(s), so there is automatic re-teaching and reinforcement throughout the Program.

Generally, students will not need to “look back” at the videos of previous Lessons, because they will have their written record of each Lesson in their binders.

It is NOT advisable to skip any Lessons, even if the student believes he or she already knows the subject of the Lesson, for the vocalized patterns of analysis specific to this Grammar Program must be learned through repetition.

If a student already has mastered certain of the Lesson elements, the Main Lesson and Extra Practice sentence diagrams should nonetheless be completed and corrected, using the video class and vocalizing all sentence analysis as directed.
